Step 5 - Evaluate your hazard management

Evaluate the management of each hazard periodically to ensure that the risk control measures continue to be relevant and effective.

An evaluation should be done whenever there is a significant change in the work process such as new equipment, or new workers, or when new information about the hazard or process becomes available. As a minimum, an evaluation should be done every year if the work is still performed.

If the evaluation finds that the risk controls are not in place or not effective, return to Step 3 and re-assess the risk to help choose more effective risk controls.
