2017 NSW Graduate and Student Architecture Awards

Awards celebrate excellence in architectural scholarship
University of Sydney graduates and students were recognised at 2017 Australian Institute of Architects' NSW Graduate and Student Architecture Awards, which showcased the top students of architecture and their work.

Timothy Qi Nan Li, Master of Architecture, and Jianzhang James Wang, Master of Architecture

Held on Friday 26 May 2017 at the Australian Institute of Architect’s Tusculum Centre in Sydney, the annual awards night showcased the top student work from NSW's four major schools of architecture. Awards were given out across four categories, Digital Innovation in Architecture, Structural Innovation in Architecture, the First Degree Design Award, and NSW Design Medal.

The following University of Sydney graduates and students were recognised on the evening:

Adam Vandepeer, Bachelor of Design in Architecture

RAIA NSW Architectural Technologies Award 
Timothy Qi Nan Li, Master of Architecture, and Jianzhang James Wang, Master of Architecture

RAIA NSW Architectural Technologies Award (Runners-Up) 
Sharon Cheuk Yao Cheong, Master of Architecture, Fook Hong Timothy Lee, Master of Architecture and Ho Hei Yick, Master of Architecture

First Degree Graduate of the Year Prize: (University Nominated)
Janelle Woo, Bachelor of Design in Architecture

History and Theory Prize: (University Nominated)
Pascale Roberts, Master of Architecture

Construction and Practice Prize:(University Nominated)
James Boden, Bachelor of Design in Architecture

2017 Jury: Andrew Nimmo (Jury Chair, Lahznimmo Architects), Dr Karen Burns (The University of Melbourne), Deborah Hodge (Durbach Block Jaggers), Steve Koolloos (Marsh Cashman Koolloos) and Michael Wiener (Mirvac Design).
