The University of Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning congratulates Master of Design Science alumna, Sally-anne Kellaway, for being recognised by Variety magazine as one of their top 10 Virtual Reality Innovators to Watch.

Working as the Creative Director at OSSIC, Sally-anne believes virtual reality (VR) is the future of entertainment, and the world in general. “I’m honoured to be named as one of 10 VR Innovators to Watch by Variety magazine. To be recognised for evangelising Audio for VR and AR (augmented reality) and for my work on the Virtual Reality Content Creators Network of Australia confirms my belief that niche markets and industries are incredibly important in VR and AR, both creatively and for innovation and growth. It’s really exciting to be able to use the skills and knowledge I developed at the University of Sydney in helping shape the nascent industry that VR is, and use informed research to develop the language and practise for Audio in VR too.”

Sally-anne presents at conferences worldwide about VR, the role of Audio in Virtual Reality, and research conducted from her master’s degree in Audio and Acoustics and diversity in STEM fields. She has also been named as one of MCV Pacific’s Most Influential Women in Games and in the MCV Pacific and the Develop 30 Under 30.
