Ashley Dunn joins the School as an Associate Professor in Architectural Practice. Dunn is the Founding Director of DunnHillam Architecture + Urban, a renowned Sydney-based architectural firm that has achieved prestigious recognitions from the NSW AIA, NT AIA, National Trust, and Houses Awards. He brings a wealth of expertise spanning housing, heritage conservation, adaptive reuse, master planning, and design for arts, culture and tourism, and development in rural and regional Australia.
Dunn has developed specialist expertise in the application of sustainable design principles and systems, as demonstrated in the award-winning Junee Library project. His research paper about the project, co-written with John Carrick from UNSW, has been published and presented at several industry conferences.
Sydney alumna Jennifer McMaster (BDesArch '10 MArch '15) returns to the School as Senior Lecturer in Architectural Practice. She is the Founding Director of TRIAS, an award-winning architectural studio based in Sydney. TRIAS has delivered projects spanning Australia and the United Kingdom and has won numerous local and international prizes and competitions.
McMaster is an advocate for holistic architecture that thoughtfully integrates sustainability, functionality and beauty to create timeless buildings. Through her active involvement within Sydney's architectural community, McMaster brings with her a wealth of valuable industry connections and insights.
Dr Daniel Fallman, Associate Professor of Practice, is the Founder and CEO of tech platform Sirap.io. He was previously Professor of Human-Computer Interaction at Umeå University, Sweden, before leading projects across design, user experience, innovation, and digital strategy across roles with Bain & Company, McKinsey & Company and Fjord.
With extensive experience in both design research and practice, Dr Fallman brings a wealth of expertise spanning strategic design, design-driven innovation, experience design, and design theory. As Associate Professor of Practice, Fallman's work will focus on equipping aspiring designers with the skills needed to address real-world challenges, leveraging design thinking for transformative innovation.
