Sydney University's MBA and Master of Management in world top 50

26 September 2024
The latest rankings have revealed the University of Sydney Business School remains in elite company for education worldwide.

Released overnight, the prestigious 2025 QS Business Master’s Rankings and QS Global MBA Rankings saw the University of Sydney’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Management both rank in the top 50 globally.

The MBA was ranked 45th out of 340 programs, moving up five places from its 2024 ranking and rating particularly highly for thought leadership (28th globally) and alumni outcomes (41st globally).

The Master of Management ranked 1st in Asia-Pacific and 27th globally out of 204 programs, where the University of Sydney again excelled in thought leadership and alumni outcomes.

Professor Leisa Sargent, Dean of the Business School, said she was pleased to see the school’s commitment to high quality, innovative business and management education recognised.

In a time of complexity, technological disruption and uncertainty, the role of business schools in teaching and equipping the leaders of today and tomorrow is more valuable than ever.

“Delivering a distinctive, transformational student experience of excellent quality is foundational to everything we do as a school and as a university.”

The 2025 QS Business Master’s Rankings were evaluated based on more than 59,000 employer nominations and nearly 50,000 academic nominations.

Programs are scored on thought leadership, alumni outcomes, employability, diversity, and return on investment – and the University of Sydney Business School ranked above the global average in each category.

Sydney is the only university in Australia that enables you to complete the CEMS Master in International Management program – ranked 10th globally – as part of your Master of Management degree.

The results come off the back of the University of Sydney’s strong performance in the 2024 Financial Times business school rankings this year, being the highest-ranked Australian university in both the MBA and the Master of Management.

Program Director of the Master of Management, Dr Echo Liao said the Principles for Responsible Management Education are crucial to the educational experience at the University of Sydney.

“Our course not only provides access to hands-on business projects with industry leaders, it also equips students with the ethical rigour to be leaders for good.”
