Helena Nguyen is an expert in employee health and wellbeing at work. Helena currently leads several high-impact, engaged industry projects with more than 19 organisations in Australia, and has successfully attracted over $1.9 million of competitive grants and industry funding. Her research has a direct and measurable impact on organisational policies and practices and has widespread national impact.
Helena's collaboration with the Black Dog Institute, Australian Mental Health Commission, Business Council of Australia, Safe Work Australia and Comcare resulted in a national report containing key recommendations and is featured on in a series of government campaigns. Professor Marian Baird AO has contributed to many government advisory boards and reference groups relating to parental leave, discrimination and gender equity in the workplace. She is one of Australia's leading researchers in women and employment.
Marian’s work has led to significant industry engagement and policy influence. In 2014 Marian led the review of women and leadership in the NSW Public Sector. She is currently a member of the Australian Human Rights Commission’s reference group on sexual harassment in the workplace survey.
Marian was awarded an AO (Officer of the Order of Australia) for outstanding services to improving the quality of women’s working lives, and was recently named one of Apolitical's Top 100 Most Influential People in Gender Equality.
Professor Bradon Ellem is an industrial relations expert who is interested in the ways in which global economic changes and national regulatory frameworks shape local settings. Originally a historian, he has interests in the field of labour geography, so his work brings together insights different fields to make sense of current industrial relations.
Bradon has applied this expertise to understanding sectors ranging from clothing manufacturing to mining. He has researched in places as diverse as Australia’s Pilbara and Sweden’s Arctic north and written reports for the Australian Council of Trade Unions, Unions NSW and unions in many industries.
Dr Dimitria Groutsis is an expert in cultural diversity in the business context. She has partnered with the Diversity Council Australia, the Australian Human Rights Commission and the Australian Institute of Company Directors on projects exploring culturally diverse leaders while also devising strategies to understand the multicultural workforce landscape.
Last year, Dimitria released the ground-breaking report Beyond the Pale: Cultural Diversity on ASX 100 Boards which highlighted that the top 100 boards fail to reflect Australia's cultural diversity. Her latest work with the Diversity Council Australia developed six principles to guide business, government and non-government organisations with raising awareness on cultural diversity and creating more inclusive workplaces through defining, monitoring and reporting on cultural diversity.
