Career support for students with disability
We provide support to assist with your job search and transition to employment.
Many employers in government and industry offer specific graduate roles, internships and other opportunities for students with disability.
Many of these employers will also be on campus for employer information sessions and careers fairs throughout the year and will be keen to meet you. You can find out which exhibitors at our careers fairs have additional opportunities by visiting their websites.
Other resources include internship and mentoring programs through the Australian Disability Network, and its member organisations encouraging applications from job seekers with disability.
Our Career Development Officers are available by appointment at the Careers Centre throughout the year. Appointments can be made online through Sydney CareerHub or by calling (02) 8627 8403.
Current students can also opt in through Sydney CareerHub to receive regular email alerts about new employment and cadetship opportunities, where students and recent graduates with disability are specifically encouraged to apply.
The Australian Human Rights Commission offers disability rights information and resources for job seekers and employees. Explore these if you are looking for work, advancing your career or thinking about self-employement.
Review these resources for sharing information about your disability and requesting workplace adjustments.
