The scholarships available through our centre

The Charles Perkins Centre offers a number of research scholarships that are open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Centre also offers a PhD scholarship opportunity.

An exciting PhD scholarship opportunity is now open for applications.

The Community Pharmacy – Research into Policy PhD Scholarship was created to promote the integrity of the pharmacist as a public health professional. The project will be part of the multidisciplinary program on Research Integrity and Science Policy with a dual focus:

  1. Describing cultural, social, corporate, political and other influences on the design, conduct and dissemination of research
  2. Conducting cutting edge methodological research to advance the science of evidence synthesis and use of evidence syntheses for policy decisions.

This highly competitive scholarship will be awarded to a student who will be undertaking full-time postgraduate study by research through the Faculty of Pharmacy based at the Charles Perkins Centre.

Please visit the Postgraduate Research Scholarships page for more information and to apply.

Please note: a new PhD scholarship opportunity will become available in the near future.

The Charles Perkins Centre offers up to 10 Summer Scholarships to high-achieving students through the summer scholarships program

Successful students undertake 8 weeks of paid research to realise innovative and collaborative project ideas that will contribute to the understanding, management or prevention of the individual and societal impacts of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and related conditions.

The Summer Scholarship is open to all University of Sydney undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students, from any area of study and with any level of research experience.

The Charles Perkins Centre Summer Scholarship is unique in that we do not specify projects for applicants to choose from. Instead we encourage students to develop and submit their own research project idea. The first steps are to:

  • Be familiar with the Charles Perkins Centre CPC Research Strategy, Mission and Goals
  • Look at the list of active research Project Nodes under our main research Domains and Themes
  • See if any of those sparks an interest in devising a multidisciplinary project
  • Approach the Project Node leader or members to promote your idea and find potential supervisors
  • Or ask for guidance and support to your current lecturers/tutors

Please note that applications for the CPC 2017/2018 Summer Research Scholarships are now closed. Applications for the CPC 2018/2017 will likely open in September 2019.
