We bring together leading experts on China, establish new research pathways, engage Australian and Chinese communities and provide education opportunities for tomorrow’s leaders.
The China Studies Centre supports our academics and students to engage with China, and facilitates collaborative research over a wide range of themes.
We believe that partnerships are important and we seek to be a gateway for government, businesses and the community to gain access to comprehensive knowledge about China. We run a full program of events each year, headlined by our annual Sydney China Business Forum.
By bringing together people from a variety of disciplines, we give our students and academics a unique perspective on the big issues of our time as they develop in China. We also provide a range of academic activities for students and staff who specialise in the study of China.
Engagement with our local communities is important to us. We are actively involved in improving the quality of public debates about China and increasing our outreach to Australian and Chinese societies.
Vice-Chancellor and Principal Dr Michael Spence AC shares a special Lunar New Year message with our University community, reflecting on the Year of the Rooster and the opportunities the Year of the Dog will bring.
