The centre seeks to develop relationships with a range of stakeholders and translate that collaboration into improved knowledge and expertise on China.
We are the gateway to China expertise at the University of Sydney. Our work brings our academics and their specialised knowledge to where it is needed most in business, government and the community.
The centre provides a bridge to industry through our annual Sydney China Business Forum, which showcases the wide range of China expertise featured in 19 different disciplines within the University. Our China-related research has helped to build better relations between Australia and China through informing significant policy decisions. We are also interested in fostering debates about China, and increasing knowledge of its markets and changing industries.
We want to work with industry to create awareness of new opportunities and advance them. We are interested in partnering with organisations and universities in China and beyond to share research activities, host joint events and communicate what we know. We want to foster the mobility of our students and enhance their knowledge of China, as well as maximising their in-country experience during their degrees.
The University is pursuing strategic partnerships with major global universities through the Office of Global Engagement. Within that strategy, the China Studies Centre is engaged in a multidisciplinary approach to research on China. We already partner with numerous universities in China and around the world to advance the resolution of important problems – both local and global.
