Innovation, co-design and value-based care

Westmead Applied Research Centre (WARC) was established by the University of Sydney in collaboration with the Western Sydney Local Health District to create and apply innovation to addressing chronic health conditions.

WARC brings together multidisciplinary experts to co-design, evaluate and translate innovative solutions into healthcare and prevention. It partners with industry, government, not-for-profit organisations. WARC research - 

  • Produces nationally and internationally impactful innovation solutions for healthcare
  • Addresses key questions that ensures innovation is value-based, improves health outcomes and is equitable in its reach

$38 million

We have generated over $38 million in research-related grant income from 2018 to 2024.

600+ publications

We have published 600+ research articles (including 200+ with IF >5 or top 20% in area) since 2018.

180 research partners

We have collaborated with over 180 research partners to achieve better health outcomes.
