What you’ll study

You will acquire a strong legal education and be well prepared for practice in the profession should you choose that career path.

You will develop:

  • critical thinking skills, 
  • the capacity for deep, evidence-based analysis and problem solving, and 
  • a thorough grounding in professional ethics.

You will complete 24 credit points, equivalent to four units of study. There is one compulsory unit of study, Environmental Law & Policy and students without a law degree must also complete the unit, Legal Reasoning & the Common Law System. You are then able to choose from a wide range of relevant electives on offer.

Qualifications

Mandatory for course entry

Admission to candidature for this course requires:

  • a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney; or an equivalent qualification

Prerequisites

Students who do not hold a law degree or equivalent from a common law jurisdiction must either have completed or be concurrently enrolled in LAWS6825 Legal Reasoning and the Common Law System prior to undertaking other law units of study.
