Students who wish to undertake one or more units of study (subjects) for their own interest but not towards a degree, may enroll in single units as a non-award student.

All units of study listed under Table A of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Table of Units of Study are available to non-award students.

How to apply

Admission as a non-award student is assessed on an individual basis. Permission is required from the department through which each unit is administered and is necessary for the application to be processed.

Standard closing dates

Semester 1 - 31 January of the same year.
Semester 2 - 15 July of the same year.

We strongly encourage applicants to apply as early as possible, offers are made on a rolling basis and places are limited. Separate Scholarship deadlines apply. Please check the relevant website for details.

Starting date

Semester 1 (February) and Semester 2 (August)
