It is pervasive and increasingly vital to the success of private and public sector organisations. You will learn how to communicate value to consumers and examine the strategies for successful marketing.

Our Marketing major emphasises critical and analytical thinking and the practice of marketing as an applied science. It provides knowledge about consumer behaviour and purchase decision making, integrating theory and practice from many branches of the social science. Our curriculum is grounded in the real world and emphasises interactive exercises, team building, role-playing, business planning, problem-solving, public presentations and social interaction.
The breadth of marketing careers provides room for all kinds of people, including those who see themselves having more general people and communication skills, as well as those who are highly entrepreneurial or seek a role that combines analytical thinking and creativity.

The Marketing major requires students to complete 48 credit points in units of study, as follows:
(1) two 1000-level core units of study (12 credit points):
(2) two 2000-level core units of study (12 credit points):
(3) one 3000-level core unit of study (6 credit points):
(4) three 3000-level selective units of study (18 credit points) selected from the following:
Note. Not all selective units will be available each year.
Students also have the option of completing a minor in this subject area.
