This subject requires the completion of a 350-hour (10 weeks) internship. The internship builds upon a student's academic learning in a practical setting and giving first-hand experience of workplace culture, organisational responsibilities and exposure to industry contacts and knowledge. Students will be expected to take on a small project or projects at the direction of the employer which will form the basis of their experience. Working with an industry partner approved by the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning, students gain professional experience in their chosen area of interest. Students will be matched to workplaces that offer experience and mentorship to maximise a student's understanding of their industry, workplace dynamics and opportunities to work on real-world projects. Students will be required to produce a report and meet with Faculty staff to discuss their experience at the conclusion of their internship. Entry to this unit of study is through permission of the program head only.
