Drug Therapy (Advanced) - PCOL3921

This unit will consist of the same lecture series as PCOL3021. The tutorials and practical sessions will extend the work provided in PCOL321 to challenge deeper learning in the effect of drug therapy on pathophysiology of chronic diseases.

Classes
Two 1 hour lectures per week, three 2 hour tutorials-advanced material, three 3 hour practicals, elective project (equivalent to four 3 hour practicals, preference given for laboratory-based project).

Assessment
One 2 hour exam, two lecture tests, practical assignment and elective project (100%)

Rang and Dale's Pharmacology, 8th Edition. H. P. Rang, J. M. Ritter, R. J. Flower, and G. Henderson, (Elsevier 2016 ).

Pre-requisites

A mark of 70 or above in {(PCOL2011 or PCOL2021 or MEDS2002) or [BMED2401 and 12cp from (BMED2402 or BMED2403 or BMED2405 or BMED2406)]}
