Connections - Educational designers group forum

The Educational Innovation team is pleased to present Connections - educational designers group forum. Please come along and join our colleagues who will showcase their projects, insights and knowledge in the broad area of what is educational design.

Presenters

Rosanne Quinnell - A technology-focused model of learning in partnership with undergraduates to develop mlearning apps.

It is now 4 years since CampusFlora v1.0 was offered in the USYD Appstore. The decision to go public has seen this project grown well beyond an app to support the learning of botany students. Branches of subsequent versions of CampusFlora (iOS, web, android), reach into our university community, spanning disciplines (health & wellbeing, cultural competence, and the arts), institutions (e.g. CSU) and our expertise extends internationally (developing apps agriculture). There remains a lot of potential in the app framework, but knowing how best to move the project forward remains a challenge.

Sonya Corcoran - An annual edTech Tools Radar to establish who is using what and why.

The radar is a document that sets out the changes that we think are currently interesting in the edTech landscape - things in motion that we think you should pay attention to and consider using in your classroom. It reflects the idiosyncratic opinion of a bunch of senior learning technologists based on our day-to-day work and experiences. While we think this is interesting, it should not be taken as a deep market analysis. *Please bring along your laptop for the interactive part of this presentation.
