Masterclass: Student-generated Media

Friday 12 August 2016

As the need for video and other online learning resources becomes more important, enabling students to create videos and other multimedia offers one way of both generating learning resources and placing the student at the centre of the learning. Getting students to create videos and other rich multimedia resources, may open up new forms of assessment, innovative learning activities, and opportunities for peer learning and engagement. Student-generated media projects can support students in exploring rich and authentic learning environments that may be outside the lab or lecture hall. This workshop will introduce you to the basic concepts, tools and considerations necessary to setup a student-generated multimedia project for your subject. This will be a hands-on event which will cover: approaches and types of multimedia, tools and technologies, student support, assignment guidelines, marking rubrics, and video storage and sharing. If you have a laptop or tablet computer (e.g. iPad) please bring this along on the day.
