#edtech talks

The DVC Education Portfolio hosts regular seminars and talks focussing on evolving and revolutionising learning and teaching through technology. Come along and hear visiting experts and learn about practical, hands-on teaching strategies from colleagues across the Faculties, Education Portfolio and ICT.

Are you interested in using technology to improve your students' learning? The edtech network brings members of the university community together to hear about the latest edtech developments, and to share their ideas, experiments and successes in using technology in their teaching. The Network meets for the #edtech talks. Join and contribute to how Sydney uses technology for teaching.

For more information, please contact: Susan Atkinson or phone (02) 9036 7033.

    3 Minute Thesis Registration

    3 Minute Thesis

If I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter...

We’ve all heard this famous quote - it’s much easier to give a long explanation of a complicated topic than to strip it down to its essentials and use language that’s intelligible to the layman. The Three Minute Thesis competition challenges postgraduate research students to do just that!

Registrations for the open heats are currently open until midnight 15th June.

    Visualise Your Thesis

Visualise Your Thesis to go into the running to win $1500!

Visualise Your Thesis provides current PhD or Professional Doctorate candidates from all disciplines with the opportunity to build essential digital communication skills to effectively communicate complex research to a general audience.

    The Task

Visualise Your Thesis challenges you to present your research in a 60 second digital display. We’ll provide you with a template so that you can create a striking looped presentation that encapsulates your research project in a short, engaging, digital narrative.

Competition submissions will be judged on their visual impact, how well the content presents the research and good scholarly citizenship (thinking copyright and referencing!).

The competition pack, including the mandatory template, will be available to download from June 4. Stay tuned for more information.

    Key dates

    Competition open: 4th June 2018

    Submissions close: 5pm 18th July 2018

    Winners announced: 3rd August 2018
