Recap – Health Education Innovation Forum, Monday 5 December 2016

Academic and professional staff from Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy and the Faculty of Health Science took part in the inaugural Health Education Innovation Forum on Monday 5 December, hosted by the Educational Innovation team. The forum, held at the Charles Perkins Centre, provided an opportunity for staff across the health faculties to make connections and share their success stories and lessons learned from their own research and practice in their own learning and teaching spaces.

Through a series of group activities, staff demonstrated a keen interest in developing technological and pedagogical innovations in health education particularly in four areas: student generated resources, development of study skills through multimedia, redefined use of the LMS for academic engagement and  evolution from the written summative assessment.

Feedback from the Forum was overwhelmingly positive, with a number of participants noting how useful it was to meet like-minded people, to learn about their faculty’s projects and technologies they have trialled:

“Useful, valuable use of time to meet and discuss ideas with fellow travellers”

“Collaborating with others who have like problems and workable solutions”

“Enjoyed the informality. Introduced to lots of tech programs!”
