We undertake research across a range of electrical engineering disciplines, emphasising future energy networks, wireless communications, computer, software, photonics and biomedical engineering with strong industry links.
Our school offers an innovative approach to teaching that combines the necessary theoretical knowledge with practical hands-on and industry experience. We offer exciting undergraduate degrees in both software engineering and electrical engineering, with students able to specialise in power engineering, telecommunications engineering, computer engineering or the Internet of Things (IoT).
The school is home to exceptional research facilities, including the Sir William Tyree Power Engineering Laboratory; the Computer and Audio Laboratory; and Computer Engineering Laboratory. Our Electrical Engineering and Energy Laboratories both provide dynamic, learning environments with industry-standard equipment which allow students to get hands-on. We’re also improving our capabilities and facilities to be at the forefront of research addressing the emergence of the IoT and its increasing influence in society.
Our ongoing cross-disciplinary research collaborations with international industry partners in the energy, environment, health and technologies sectors have let to engagement with SingTel, Ausgrid and Huawei. We’re dedicated to continuing these strong industry links to ensure our research, teaching and curriculum development remain relevant to real-world demands.
The School of Electrical and Information Engineering awards a number of scholarships and prizes to its students for their outstanding achievements across a range of engineering disciplines.
The Scholarships and Prizes event is held each year to congratulate our prize winners for their significant accomplishments.
Special thanks to Australian Industry Group (Ai), Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Freelancer International Pty Ltd, and ResMed for their generous sponsorships of the prizes to our outstanding students in this year event.
