Thesis title: Image-Centric Data Fusion in the Medical Applications

Thesis abstract:

Data fusion from different sources of information plays an important role in the medical applications because the complexity of biological phenomenon usually cannot be explained with a single source of data. For the multi-modal medical images such as CT and MRI, data-level fusion framework could be used to provide comprehensive information to assist physicians with diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.In order to further include clinical data and genomic data into fusion framework, feature-level and decision-level fusion are more suitable because images contain too much unrelavent information to be combined with clinical data without feature extration. In my project, I am going to propose a generalised image-centric data fusion framework, which is capable to handle multi-center, multi-modality data fusion to facilitate medical applications.
