Thesis title: Entrainment in Pulsing Plumes

Supervisors: Steven ARMFIELD , Nicholas WILLIAMSON

Thesis abstract:

In this project laboratory experiments will be used to undertake the detailed study of pulsing plumes over a range of flow parameters. The full details of the turbulent structure will be used to quantify the entrainment within plumes. The results will provide more accurate prediction of bulk plume parameters, as well as insight into the fundamental fluid mechanics of entrainment in the complex buoyant flow.
