Thesis title: QoS Framework for Big Data in Cloud Computing Environments

Thesis abstract:

Smart mobile devices and smart sensors generate data with unprecedented speed and heterogeneity. This data, Big Data, urges research on developing appropriate systems to manage it efficiently. Handling Big Data is a challenging task that requires large computing resources and new software systems.
NoSQL databases are actively gaining various use cases due to its high performance and flexible elasticity of horizontal scaling in Big Data era.
Cloud Computing, on another hand, is prevailing in many industries domains because of its ability to provide any scale computing with a pay-per-use model.
To remain a cost-effective manner and provide QoS enforcement according to workloads and data sizes, effective computing resource management is essential. We aim to develop an efficient and QoS aware resource management framework for Big Data in Cloud Computing environments.
