Honours in biology is a one-year program available via an appended or an embedded or an integrated Honours, depending on the degree a student is enrolled in. Honours comprise a total of 48-credit points, distributed across (1) a 36-credit point research project that gives you the opportunity to take part in cutting edge research programs aligned with your degree major(s) under the supervision of an academic member of staff, write a thesis based on this research, present seminars describing their work, undertake research skills training, and attend weekly school seminars and (2) two 6-credit point coursework units that collectively will develop fundamental research and communication skills in science. To view a full list of projects please visit the Honours Hub on the SOLES Student Portal Canvas site.
To be eligible for the Honours program in biology, students should usually have completed two majors, including at least one major that is cognate to their Honours area; and have met the requirements outlined in the resolutions.
