Examination and assessment

Assessment is by examination and assignment.

There is at least one compulsory assignment in each subject and the assignment result contributes 20% to the final mark. The LEC administers the setting and marking of assignments and engages the LPAB’s examiners to assess or supervise the assessment of assignments.

The pass mark in all subjects is 50%. A pass is determined by achievement in the examination (including the assignment result), and is not influenced by pass rates.

The Board appoints an Examiner, usually the Committee's lecturer in the subject, and a Revising Examiner in each subject.
