The University of Sydney Law School is pleased to announce its ten Visiting Fellows for 2024.

The Visiting Fellowships scheme was launched in 2023 to attract leading researchers from around the world who could contribute to the research environment of Sydney Law School.

Visiting Fellows receive a contribution toward their travel and living expenses while in Sydney.

The Visiting Fellowships were named after three former Sydney Law School Medallists who demonstrated a breadth of expertise and sustained achievement in the law.

The Law School’s established program for self-funded visitors operates in parallel with this new scheme.

Applications were submitted from all over the world, with the successful fellows selected from eight different countries spanning six continents. The selection process was both competitive and challenging.

Professor Simon Bronitt, Dean of the Sydney Law School, offered a warm welcome to the new fellows and praised the role of the research team in bringing them here.

The 2024 visitors program has been revitalised through the extraordinary efforts of our Associate Dean, Professor Arlie Loughnan and the Research Team at Sydney Law School. Not only are these competitive fellowships honouring the contributions of distinguished alumni, it offers generous financial support to a more diverse group of scholars through the use of philanthropic funds.
