Mentoring

Building research capacity and supporting cross-sector collaboration
We offer a Mentoring Program to support practitioners and services in building their capacity to develop and conduct research projects.

The Matilda Centre Research Mentoring Program provides workers in community managed organisations, who are members of the Network of Alcohol and Other Drug Agencies (NADA) or Mental Health Coordinating Council (MHCC), with the opportunity to be paired with one of the Matilda Centre’s Early Career Researchers to support development of research knowledge and skills.

The Matilda Centre Research Mentoring Program can provide guidance on many different aspects of research, including but not limited to: literature searching; developing research questions; ethics applications; research methodologies; and writing up results for publication. Initial commitment is for a minimum of 6 months.

Our mentoring program handbook provides a comprehensive overview of the mentoring program, including:

  • program eligibility
  • expectations of mentors and mentees
  • program structure.
The mentoring program has really helped establish our practice-based research and navigating the many options on clear and relevant research methodology.
