Fertility specialists have diverse career opportunities that allow them to impact patient care, advance medical knowledge, influence public policy, and contribute to the development of new treatments and technologies.
Added to this, a degree with a specialisation in fertility from the University of Sydney, a top 20 university globally (QS World University Rankings 2025), is sure to open doors throughout your career.
Our graduates undertake opportunities in clinical practice (either in a private or hospital environment) that focus on reproductive health and patient care. They also work in specialised fertility services such as In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) centres or with donor or surrogacy programs.
There is also the potential to work in clinical trials for research institutions, or work towards an academic position in the fertility field by undertaking a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Health or science graduates may develop careers in laboratory work supporting fertility clinics, patient education, and social support.
For those interested in research to advance knowledge and improve treatments for infertility, our Master of Medicine or Master of Science in Medicine (Advanced) (Sexual and Reproductive Health) provide introductory training on research methods in the field of Reproductive Health and Fertility.
