Since our establishment in 2002, SOuRCe has aimed to promote an evidence-based approach to improving clinical practice and achieving optimal outcomes for patients. As a multidisciplinary academic research unit of the University of Sydney and the Sydney Local Health District (SLHD), our research agenda addresses diverse aspects of surgical outcomes research, including surgical effectiveness, patient-reported outcomes and quality of life, patterns of care and evidence-based practice, health economic evaluation, assessment of patient preferences, surgical decision-making and methodological studies.
SOuRCe has since come under the governance structure of the RPA Institute of Academic Surgery (IAS), greatly enhancing the breadth and depth of the collaborations between the University and SLHD.
