Radiography is the science of creating images of human tissue, bones, organs and vessels using equipment ranging from X-ray machines to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Radiographers work closely with radiologists and medical practitioners by providing meaningful medical images to enable an accurate diagnosis of a patient's condition.
They also work closely with cardiologists in imaging heart disease, with surgeons during a range of operations, and with emergency doctors in the emergency room.
Our graduates provide images and data for the diagnosis and treatment of injury and disease. Diagnostic radiographers work in the hospital system and private practice both in Australia and overseas.
Students will be equipped with theoretical skills and practical experience through clinical fieldwork placements. Clinical placements are undertaken in both the public and private sectors.
Qualifications gained from the Discipline of Medical Radiation Sciences are recognised worldwide, and graduates will receive full accreditation from their respective professional associations.
