Our network of 8 clinical schools are located in major teaching hospitals in the Sydney metropolitan area and in regional hospitals across NSW.
Clinical placements
Studying a health degree at the University of Sydney equips you with the leadership capabilities, clinical skills and human understanding to make a big difference to the lives of individuals and whole communities.
Clinical placements are major components of most of our health courses and integral to gaining your professional accreditation. In most courses, course-required placements are embedded from the first year and increase as you progress in your degree. Learn more about course-required placements.
Elective placements are also offered through out clinical schools to internal and external medical students in their final year of study who wish to expand their knowledge in a specialty area or across a variety of clinical settings.
Clinical placements are also available at the Broken Hill University Department of Rural Health and the University Centre of Rural Health at Lismore.
