Arthroscopic skills workshop

Fundamental principles of arthroscopy
This workshop covers the core principles of arthroscopy for shoulder, knee and ankle joints. It’s a unique opportunity to develop procedural skills which are difficult to acquire as a trainee in a busy hospital setting.

Course overview

This course is suitable for general and orthopaedic surgery trainees and SRMOs (senior resident medical officers). Topics include meniscal surgery, ACL basics, chondroplasty and diagnostic arthroscopy.

On completion of the course, you will be familiar with:

  • indications for arthroscopic surgery
  • patient positioning
  • arthroscopic equipment
  • principles and techniques of shoulder and ankle arthroscopy including ACL and meniscal surgery.

Please note: this course cannot contribute towards an academic degree and is not currently accredited for CME (continuing medical education) points.

Course structure
  • One day course, 8am - 5pm
  • Interactive format, with instructional lectures and hands-on simulator workshops using realistic models.
