The Chau Chak Wing Museum is located opposite the University’s Quadrangle buildings
A free museum in the heart of Sydney's inner city.

The entrance to the Museum is located on University Place, directly across from the Great Hall and Quadrangle lawns, and next to Fisher Library.

The Museum building sits at the University Avenue campus entrance, off Parramatta Road and next to Baxter's Lodge and the historic gates. Scenic Victoria Park and Broadway are a minute's walk from the Museum.

How to get here

A drop off bay is available at the front of the Museum for those arriving by taxi or other rideshare companies.

 

Designated accessible parking bays are available at the entrance of the Museum and at the entrance of Fisher Library. Please note, on Saturday 9 March, urgent repair works will be taking place on the accessible parking bay in front of the Museum and as such, there will be limited parking available. For other nearby accessible parking locations, see the University of Sydney website.

 

Limited casual parking is available outside the Museum on University Place and elsewhere on campus - parking fees apply.

 

To find the parking areas near the Museum, use our interactive campus map and select "Carparks" or "Motorcycle parking" under amenities.

 

It's a short 20-minute walk through Darlington to get here from Redfern Station. Central Station is a 5-minute bus ride away.

There are several bus stops along Parramatta Road and City Road that can be used to visit the University.

The nearest bus stop to our museum is on Parramatta Road. Catch routes 412, 413, 436, 438, 439, 440, 461, 480, 483 or Metrobus M10 and alight at the Footbridge stop.

For stops on City Road, catch routes 422, 423, 426, 428, 430, 370 and 352.

Bicycle racks are available at the front of the museum.

A bike repair station is located outside the Chemistry Building on Eastern Avenue. This is a self-service bicycle repair station with an air pump, allen wrenches, screw drivers and tyre levers.
