Family, friends and members of the public are invited to honour the life of former Wallaby star Daniel Vickerman at a memorial service to be held at the University of Sydney tomorrow.
A public memorial service will be held to celebrate Daniel Vickerman’s life and legacy at his former home ground of Sydney University No.1 Oval on Wednesday 1 March at 2pm.
A wake will follow the service at 3pm in the Sydney Uni Soccer Football Club (SUSFC) Function Room, TAG Foundation Grandstand at the Sydney University Football Ground (No. 2 Oval).
As a sign of respect, all past Sydney University Football Club players are encouraged to wear the University colours of yellow and blue.
South African-born Vickerman played 63 Tests and three World Cup tournaments for the Wallabies from 2002 - 2011. His football career also included three seasons with the Brumbies and five with the NSW Waratahs before retiring from the game in 2012.
He is remembered as a "gentle giant" of the rugby community, and a widely respected leader, player and friend.
