Biographical details

Dion is a registered nurse with clinical experience primarily in acute/critical care. He is an advanced clinician with expertise in Cardiothoracic/Coronary Care Nursing. He has been in the tertiary education sector since 2015. He is currently an Associate Lecturer – Clinical Education Specialist at Sydney Nursing School, The University of Sydney. He teaches in both Bachelor’s and Master’s pre-registration programs. He is also an experienced Clinical Nurse Facilitator supervising undergraduate students on clinical placements.

He finished his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2008, Cum Laude. He holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing specialising in Clinical Education and a Post-graduate Certificate in Cardiovascular Nursing. At present, he is completing his Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and his research focuses on improving the quality of cardiac rehabilitation service delivery in New South Wales.

He is a motivated and passionate educator. He strives to ensure that the future generation of nurses are equipped with competencies and attitudes necessary to provide the highest quality of care to patients and the community.

Dion's teaching interests include acute and chronic care, specifically cardiovascular nursing, medical-surgical nursing, and pathophysiology. He currently teaches in the following programs:
