Isabelle Hesse's work is situated at the nexus of postcolonial, Jewish, and Middle Eastern studies, and she has widely published in these areas and their intersections, including on the cultural and political connections between Europe and the Middle East. She is also interested in Postcolonial writing and theory, Israeli and Palestinian literature and film, and the cultural memory of the Holocaust and colonialism in Europe. Isabelle welcomes enquiries from students interested in working in these areas as well as inquiries related to her research interests listed below.
