Synopsis

The MD2020 MD project curriculum commenced in 2022 and we have collected student experience and evaluation data for the first 2 cohorts.  This project will evaluate the student experience of the program, with a focus on student satisfaction, learning and wellbeing during this block. This project will involve a mixed methods analysis of evaluation and assessment data. Including student reflections, project types, learning outcomes and well-being. The goal is to undertake an in-depth analysis of the student experience of a mandatory research experience during their MD Program. The outcomes will inform future initiatives for improvement of contemporary medical programs.

Additional information

Dr Joanne Hart is the Academic Lead, MD Research and responsible for research education for the Post-Graduate Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at the University of Sydney. She has extensive experience in tertiary teaching and biomedical research, research education and curriculum delivery and development. She is passionate about promoting best practice in research education and is the co-lead of the international Research Educators Network for research educators in medical programs from Australia and New Zealand. She has an excellent research publication track record in tertiary education and project-based learning.
