This project aims to advance fundamental knowledge on the serviceability behaviour of fibre reinforced shotcrete tunnel linings with respect to early age cracking induced by restrained shrinkage.
Research Areas:
Fibre Reinforced Concrete, Restrained Shrinkage
This project will investigate the early age cracking behaviour of Fibre Reinforced Concrete (FRC). Large scale experiments are planned to investigate the cracking behaviour of restrained slab elements containing various amount of fibre reinforcement. Material data will be collected alongside the large scale tests to characterise the FRC.
Offering:
A scholarship for 3.5 years at the RTP stipend rate (currently $40,109 in 2024). International applicants will have their tuition fees covered.
