Developing novel methods for assessing obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Summary

This project will explore novel methods of assessing OCD symptoms and their severity. It may also investigate physiological methods of assessing sympathetic nervous system activity in people with OCD and related disorders and/or digital technology.

Synopsis

My research into OCD has involved better understanding the heterogeneity of OCD, i.e. the many different symptoms of OCD and the differing ways it can present clinically. The ultimate goal is to improve diagnosis and prognostic indicators in a way that assists clinical practice.

Additional information

This research will build on Australia’s largest study of patients with OCD, called the Nepean OCD Study.

Research location (mandatory): Westmead Hospital.
