Synopsis

This project focuses on the genomic diversity, evolution and distribution of ERVs in platypuses. The aim is to characterise ERVs from the entire genomes of 57 platypuses from across Australia. There is also the scope to investigate the expression of ERVS in platypus populations. This project will involve bioinformatic analyses of next generation sequencing (genome sequence and RNA data).
