About Dr Damien Cahill

Research interests include: Neoliberalism; Heterodox Economics; Marx; Polanyi; Economic Crises

Damien Cahill's research focuses primarily on the nature and dynamics of neoliberalism. He is particularly interested in the relationship between neoliberal theory and practice, reasons for the durability of neoliberalism, and the ways it is being re-shaped by crisis. More broadly his research focuses on the economy-society nexus and the theoretical tools scholars use to understand this relationship. Damien has worked as a shop assistant, labourer, student newspaper editor and political adviser, and spent several periods of time on the dole. He is a trade union activist and a keen runner.
