About Professor Bill Pritchard

Professor Pritchard is an internationalist. He believes in a better and fairer world, but is frustrated by the obstacles that beset this objective.

Prof Bill Pritchard is an economic geographer with primary interests in the organisation of food systems, and their implications for rural communities and environments. In Australia, he has been involved in major research projects examining the changing rural economy and its relationship to farm ownership. Internationally, his work has used a global value chain approach to document the trade and investment arrangements underpinning agri-food globalisation. In recent years, this aspect of Prof Pritchard’s work has found expression in a series of studies into livelihood issues in rural India.

Professor Bill Pritchard is a research at the School of Geosciences.
