About Dr Dwi Noverini Djenar

Dr Novi Djenar is a linguist with specialisation in Indonesian language. Her research interests are in topics related to the sociolinguistics of youth language practices and literary linguistics (stylistics). Novi’s research is informed by approaches in semantics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, and narrative analysis. She has worked on the semantics of person-reference, youth language practices in Indonesia, and the stylistics of Indonesian teen fiction. Novi is currently working on a project on style and intersubjectivity in youth interaction (with Michael Ewing and Howard Manns).
