In Vivo Markers of Disease Activity in Motor Neuron Disorders

We are looking to recruit healthy volunteers to participate in a study to understand how neuroimaging and neurophysiological techniques can be used to measure neuromuscular disease progression and activity. You will be asked to undergo a range of functional and non-invasive neurophysiological assessments.

Participants will be asked to complete a number of assessments including functional tasks as well as neurophysiological assessments including nerve studies, transcranial magnetic stimulation, MRI scan and PET-CT scan.

This study has approval from the Sydney Local Health District Ethics Review Committee (Protocol no X16-0172 and HREC/16/RPAH/211).

Eligibility

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are over 40 years of age
  • Have no prior history of neurological disorders
