A pilot study for outpatients receiving psychological treatment for an eating disorder.

The study will look at the impact on patient outcomes following a five-session, tailored nutrition and dietetic intervention
Researchers from the University of Sydney and Basten & Associates clinical psychology practice are examining how nutrition and dietetic intervention, delivered alongside psychological treatment, may help patients achieve recovery from an eating disorder.

Participants will receive 5 sessions of nutrition and dietetic intervention alongside their psychological treatment as usual. They will also be asked to complete an assessment with a dietitian before and after these 5 sessions.

All nutrition and dietetic treatment is free of charge and offered at the same practice location where patients are seeing their Basten & Associates therapist.

Ethic approval number: 2018/888

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you are:

  • Aged 16 years or older.
  • Medically stable.
  • Not currently seeing a dietitian as part of your eating disorder treatment.
