Synopsis

Dr Callaway's research interests include: Australian visual culture from European contact to mid-twentieth century, the special role of ephemeral art in fostering and maintaining cultural links between colony and metropole, cross-cultural appropriation of indigenous and non-indigenous imagery, especially in Australia and North America and the Nineteenth-century spectacle and performance.
