Commencing undergraduate student scholarships

If you’re a domestic student who wants to commence studying in an undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney, you can apply for most scholarships through one application form.

We're dedicated to supporting you throughout your time at university. We offer a wide variety of scholarships for domestic undergraduate students. To make the process easier, we've created a single application form where you can be considered for most of our domestic undergraduate commencing scholarships.

How to apply

Applications open 1 July 2024

To be considered for a scholarship through this application form, you need to:

  1. Submit a UAC application and list the University of Sydney as one of your preferences. You will need your 9 digit UAC ID to apply through this form.
  2. Have access to your full year 11 results and your half-yearly year 12 report or HSC trial results, or a tertiary transcript.
  3. If you want to be considered for Equity-based scholarships, complete an Educational Access Scheme (EAS) application in UAC, including submitting relevant documentation, by 30 September 2024.
  4. Complete the Commencing Undergraduate Domestic Single Scholarships Application Form

These steps MUST be completed by 30 September 2024.

Completing the form

The single scholarship form requires you to answer four questions, each with a word limit of 150 words. You will also need to select up to three faculty and/or courses to be considered for.

  1. Outline your academic achievements. Reflect on one of these, tell us why it was notable and made you proud.
  2. Outline your extra-curricular activities or activities outside of the classroom. Reflect on one of those activities and tell us why it is important to you.
  3. Why do you want to study your chosen study area/courses?
  4. How will you make a positive impact after you graduate from your chosen area of study?

For students who wish to be considered for equity scholarships, you will also have to answer the following question:

  1. Please tell us the impact a scholarship would have on your ability to study at the University of Sydney?

Some scholarships may require additional information or an interview. If further information/interview is required, we will contact you via the phone/email address you list in your scholarship application.
