Biographical details

Charles Foster studies big questions in evolutionary biology. His research throughout his Honours and PhD degrees focused on key questions in flowering plant evolution. For his postdoctoral position within the Evolutionary and Integrative Zoology Laboratory at the University of Sydney, Charles will be using proteomic and transcriptomic data from a diverse range of animal species to research the evolution of viviparity and the placenta.

Research interests

Evolutionary biology, phylogenetics, genomics, transcriptomics, genetics, viviparity, flowering plants, reptiles, mammals and sharks.
