Biographical details

Claire is a postdoctoral research associate in the EarthByte Group , School of Geosciences. She completed her PhD at the University of Lyon (France) in 2017 titled “Tectonic analyse of the surface of mantle convection models“. Her research focused on the relationships between deep dynamics and surface tectonics.

Research interests

- Interaction between surface processes and lithospheric/mantle dynamics.

- Long term evolution of the driving force of plate tectonics

Teaching and supervision

Claire leads the Global stream of the 5-year Basin GENESIS Hub project funded by the Australian Research Council and industry partners.

Current projects

- Understand the impact of the sedimentation on the migration of the deformation on continental margins.

- Investigate the effect of lithospheric rheology and extension obliquity on the removal/addition of up to several kilometres of material during rifting

- Fighting everyday sexism in academia, one comic strip at a time: didthisreallyhappen.net

- Use Virtual Planets to better understand the Earth geodynamics.
